Description

This 10-page PDF covers times-tables practice from 1 to 12. It is made for ages 8–10, but the order matters more than the age label: 2s, 5s, and 10s come before the fact families that usually slow children down.

The notorious one is 7 × 8. I gave facts like that more than one route into memory. A child may meet them in a fill-in grid, see them represented as a visual array, find them on a skip-counting ladder, and then recall them during a speed drill. Repetition helps, but repeating the exact same question in the exact same layout can become background noise. Changing the task makes the learner look again.

Not every page should be timed. In fact, I would keep the stopwatch away until the child can explain an array and spot a few useful patterns. Speed before understanding tends to create guessing. Once a fact family feels familiar, the included speed-drill sections are handy for a brief check—two or three minutes is enough.

There are also matching exercises and word problems, which show whether a memorized fact can be used outside a table. The full answer key lets an adult check the work quickly. For a wrong answer, circle the question first and ask how the child reached it; sometimes the issue is a skipped count, not a missing multiplication fact.

Print one focused fact family, a mixed review page, or the whole set. The purchase is delivered as an instant PDF download and can be reprinted for your own home or classroom.
